Caramel Frappe

Im a huge fan of McDonalds Caramel Frappe, but honestly, there too expensive. I first found this on Amys blog, Keepin the Sunny Side (her link is on the left side if you would like to visit), she found it at The Pioneer Woman site, the link is here.

Im going to try this recipe except Im going to make it caramel instead of mocha. Ill keep ya posted as too how it goes.

  • ¾ cups Brewed Strong Coffee, Room Temperature
  • ¾ cups Milk
  • 1 package Sweetener, A Single Serve Packet, Your Choice
  • 2 Tablespoons Chocolate Syrup
  • 2 Tablespoons Liquid Coffee Creamer, Your Flavor Of Choice
  • 3 whole Ice Cubes

In a 16 oz. Mason jar, put all your ingredients followed with the ice cubes. Put the lid and ring on and shake, shake, shake!

Taste it. Does it need a little more sweetener?
I don’t like mine horribly sweet, so I stick with one packet of Splenda. The creamer and chocolate syrup add the rest of the sugar to sweeten.

As for the creamer, I used Coffeemate Italian Sweet Cream. It’s nondescript, sweet and creamy and lets the coffee and chocolate shine through.
But, if you like hazelnut or coconut cream, go for it!

At this point, you can drink it right out of the jar or pour it over crushed ice and top with whipped cream and drizzle more chocolate for an authentic coffee house experience.

Recipe Blog

Ive finally decided what to do with this blog, LOL! Im going to use it as my recipe box. If a recipe that I grab off the internet, well, wait a minute.....what Im getting at is. if I write a recipe down, I loose it. So if its not already in a book.....its gone. Thats why I decided to use this blog. I will always give credit to the original owner of the recipes and sometimes I will only have links to the recipes. This is really to keep me organized and to share recipes with you all as well. With the snow blowing again, Im ready to get baking.....might as well make the best of it...the snow that is!

Inspirations~~~

Its that time of year, well, for me it is. That time of year when all the thanksgiving/Christmas festivities are over, its blazing cold and damp outside and thoughts of spring and sunshime are welcome. This is probably my least favorite time of year, the only thing that keeps me goin is Valentines day. Not that hubby and I are die hard romantics, but I love the colors of Valentines day....pinks, whites and reds.....very girly and pretty. Actually, hubby is anti-Valentines day...he says its a monopoly for the buisnesses....a way to make money. Yet we usually celebrate with dinner and rent a movie...told ya we were not romatic, LOL!

I remember when these cupcakes were on the cover of Country Living
I thought these were so cute...they get you in the holiday spirit.

Ive been thinking about a new, simple, project and the colors in the cupcakes inspiring me. I have this thing about saving laundry detergent containers, whether the liquid plastic kind or the cardboard dry kind....drives hubby crazy, but it seems like there should be something to re-purpose them for.....so.....heres my plan.I have one of the cardboard containers and I was thinking over covering the inside and out with contact paper and embellishing with some pretty ribbons or bottuns. Im wanting something red and white, maybe some pink. Anyway, Im thinking it would be perfect for storing things like pens/notepads, small kitchen gadgets, etc. Plus with the contact paper it would be easy to wipe down.

Ive already checked WM for some , but their colors and patterns were really boring, so I guess I will keep looking till I find just what Im wanting.

Ok, as of right now, I can not access the web at home and thats part of why Ive been gone since Christmas. A few more reasons Ive been gone...well....where do I start? First of all hubby got sick right before Christmas, then I got sick after, then we did some minor remodeling in our kitchen, the the computer got sick....then a big snow storm hit and Ive been anxiously awaiting to be able to be on the computer at home and so in the meantime Ive been flying through Beverly Lewis books...Im in love with these books....seriously!

Anyway, I "HOPE" to be back in full force in a few weeks and hoping to have my open house here on my new blog, so keep an I out for me and pray for me...its been crazy around here, LOL!
